Old Carrollwood · Full Renovation
When we first walked into this beautiful home, it was still very much living in the 1980s, its floor-to-ceiling river rock fireplace holding the memory of another era. Rather than erase its past, we let it guide us, honoring the warmth of the home’s teak and the mid-century edge our clients have always loved, then pairing it with the quiet, classic lines of their transitional style. What began as a simple sitting room refresh grew into a full renovation of the kitchen, laundry room, living room, and breakfast nook, each space shaped around how this family truly lives. The beauty is in the details: custom cabinetry built for its place, unlacquered brass that will soften and gain patina with every passing year, and oversized neutral checkerboard tile grounding it all. Even an overlooked kitchen desk found new purpose as a full-length wet bar and coffee station beside a sunny breakfast nook, proof that the best homes don’t erase their story, they simply let the old and new learn to live together.
“Working with a design team who truly "gets" the balance between high-end style and the beautiful chaos of family life is a rare find. From our very first meeting, it was clear that Sarah and team weren't just looking to create a showroom; they were looking to create a home. They listened intently to our needs, ensuring that every corner of the house remained sophisticated while fully accommodating the energy and creativity of our children. The process was seamless thanks to their dual expertise in design and project management. Even when inevitable roadblocks appeared, they handled them with such grace and efficiency that we never had to worry. They remained remarkably disciplined with our budget, finding clever ways to deliver luxury without overspending. Beyond the technical skill, they are simply wonderful people to be around. Their personable nature made the entire collaboration a joy, and by the end of the project, the professional bond had shifted into a personal one. We don’t just consider them our designers anymore—we consider them family. If you want a home that feels as good as it looks, and a team that treats your project with genuine heart, look no further !”
